We have lived in Conifer, Colorado since September 1977. Our house is located at an elevation of 9,400'. We are surrounded by 2 acres of pine trees and aspens. When we first moved to Conifer, we had 5 miles of dirt road to drive everyday, up a steep, twisty mountain road. There were only a few local shops. Now, most of the road is paved and there is more shopping but it is still a beautiful place to live. Most winters we get close to150" of snow. The summers are really beautiful with most days in the 70's and little humidity but almost daily thunderstorms. During the summer we feed many hummingbirds at our feeder. Seeing elk or deer is a daily occurrence and once a year a bear wanders by! There are many fox and raccoon that live in the area.
