Touring SW Utah September 6-11, 2012

South-West Utah is an amazing display of geologic wonders. Depending on the rock mineral content, the effects of erosion and weathering results in rock formations that are very varied in color, shape and texture.

We also used this trip to test out a new camping style. We have been camping for 40 years, evolving from tent camping, to a pickup truck pop-up camper to now trying out a 17' expandable trailer with all the comforts of home including a flush bathroom, shower, heater and air, microwave, lights and a generator to power it all.

We started in Denver and drove I-70 to Green River State park in Utah. Then headed west and south to Kodachrome Basin State Park. Finally we went further south to the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
