001 Mt Cook-Alps
December, 1989. New Zealand's spectacularly beautiful landscape includes vast mountain chains, steaming volcanoes, sweeping coastlines, deeply indented fiords and lush rainforests.
Comparable in size to Colorado, New Zealand has a population of only 4 million - making it one of the world's least crowded countries. We split our time between the South Island, filled with mountains ans fiords and the North Island with its geothermal features, fishing and great bays for sailing. We completed the Milford trek, which is one of the worlds great walks.
