Today after a breakfast of bacon and eggs we quickly cruised down the pass and lost all the hard earned elevation that we gained yesterday. But the views of the San Juan's were spectacular. At the bottom of the pass we crossed through some huge ranches that were straight out of some western movies. We briefly crossed a highway and then found ourselves on an incredibly lonely but beautiful ranch road taking us up to Spring Creek. A herd of deer crossed our path. Spring Creek hut was found about 1 mile down a 4 wheel road populated by range cattle. Now we were becoming experts making ourselves comfortable in the huts and even experimented with chips and dip to accompany the beer before dinner.
